Privacy Policy

Dwellie — Home Management App · Version 1.0
Effective date: 12 May 2026 · Last updated: 12 May 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the Dwellie mobile application ("Dwellie", "the app", "we") handles information when you use it. Dwellie is a local-first home management app published by Vargary. The app is designed so that everything you put into it stays on your device. This policy explains exactly what that means and lists every outside service the app talks to.

1. At-a-glance summary

2. Device permissions and why we use them

Below is every category of device data Dwellie can access, why it needs that access, and whether anything leaves your device.

Camera

Microphone

Approximate location

Calendar

Notifications

Photos and files

3. Every network connection the app makes

These are the only network destinations Dwellie itself contacts. The list is exhaustive — there are no analytics, telemetry, advertising, crash-reporting or push-notification endpoints.

DestinationWhenWhat is sentWhy
api.open-meteo.com
geocoding-api.open-meteo.com
Only when the weather feature is enabled and a forecast is fetched. Approximate latitude/longitude (city-level) and language preference. No account, no API key, no device identifier, no user identifier. To fetch the weather forecast and resolve a city name from coordinates. Open-Meteo's privacy notice: open-meteo.com/en/terms.
fonts.gstatic.com On first launch (and after app updates), to fetch the Lexend and Nunito UI typefaces if not already cached. A standard HTTPS request for a font file. As with any HTTPS request, the server sees your device's IP address. No account, no Dwellie user identifier, no in-app content. The app uses Google Fonts (Lexend, Nunito) for its UI typography. Once a font is cached locally it is reused without further requests. Google's Fonts privacy notice: developers.google.com/fonts/faq/privacy.

That is the complete list. No other servers are contacted by the app under normal use.

4. Third-party services and SDKs

Dwellie does not use Firebase, Google Analytics, Crashlytics, Sentry, Facebook SDK, advertising networks, attribution SDKs, or any other third-party service that transmits user data.

5. Where your data lives and how it is protected

All app data — tasks, household members, inventory, photos, documents, expenses, settings — is stored locally on your device, in:

Because the data lives on your device, it is protected by your device's own security (screen lock, OS-level encryption-at-rest, app sandboxing). We do not operate cloud servers that hold your data, and Dwellie does not sync your data between devices. If you change phones, the previous device's data does not automatically transfer.

6. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, share, license or transfer your information to third parties. Because the app does not collect your data on our servers in the first place, there is nothing for us to share. The only data that ever leaves your device is described in section 3.

7. Data retention

Your data is retained on your device for as long as you keep the app installed. You can delete individual items at any time from within the app, or remove all data by uninstalling Dwellie — the operating system erases all of the app's private storage when you uninstall. We retain no server-side copy because we have no server.

If you contact us by email (see section 12), we may retain that email correspondence for as long as is necessary to respond and to keep a basic record of support history.

8. Children

Dwellie is intended for adult household use. The app is not directed at children. The "child" and "teen" household-member features are management tools used by parents to organise their household; they are not accounts or services owned, operated by, or directed at minors. We do not knowingly collect data from children, and because the app stores everything locally we do not collect data from anyone on a server. If a parent believes a child has nonetheless used the app and they wish to remove any data, uninstalling the app on the device deletes it.

9. Your rights (including users in the EEA / UK)

Because your data lives only on your device, you have direct technical control: you can view, edit, export (via the share feature on supported items) or delete any item from within the app, and you can erase all app data by uninstalling. We have no separate copy to provide or delete on our side.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and equivalent laws, including the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection and data portability. Because Dwellie processes your data only on your device, those rights are exercised directly through the app's interface and through your device's settings.

The legal basis for the limited processing that does occur is:

Controller: Vargary. Contact: vargarytech@gmail.com.

Supervisory authority: EEA users have the right to lodge a complaint with a data-protection supervisory authority. For Hungarian residents this is the Nemzeti Adatvédelmi és Információszabadság Hatóság (NAIH)naih.hu. Users in other EEA countries may contact their national authority.

10. California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including the rights to know, to delete, and to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. Dwellie does not sell or share personal information in the meaning of those laws, and does not collect personal information on any server. You can exercise the equivalent of the right to know and right to delete directly through the app and by uninstalling, as described in section 9.

11. Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, the new version will appear at this URL with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will be highlighted in-app the next time you open it.
